Petros is a Responsible AI and AI strategy consultant as well as a senior technology leader with over 15 years of experience spanning AI governance, research leadership, and enterprise transformation. He currently works at code4thought in Athens, where he advises Tier-1 organizations in banking, financial-services technology and healthcare on EU AI Act readiness and ISO/IEC 42001 compliance, while leading R&D on iQ4AI, a GenAI, agentic, and tabular AI evaluation platform covering performance, fairness, toxicity, and security. He has been invited by the TUV Hellas certification body to serve as an AI expert on ISO/IEC 42001 audits for major banking and professional-services institutions, and he also teaches information security and cyber warfare courses at a military academy.
Before this, he built a track record of leadership and business ownership across research and technology organizations in Greece, Germany, and the UK. He set research and product strategy as a senior research manager at a cloud-connected 3D scanning company (delivering a tenfold accuracy improvement in six months), owned AI strategy and quality assurance as director of research for the European arm of a global 3D scanning and printing company, and founded his own research consultancy, which won a €150,000 EC fellowship and a €100,000 investment offer from a well-known startup accelerator. Earlier still, he led R&D and product design programs at a UK university and a national physical measurement institute, generating over £450,000 in direct sales in one role and contributing to instrumentation delivered to a European space agency.
He holds a PhD in Nanophotonics, an MSc in Nanoelectronics (Distinction), and a BEng in Electronic Engineering (First Class Honours), all from a leading UK university. His academic output includes 33 peer-reviewed publications with roughly 2,500 citations, a granted European patent, and recognition including best paper and best poster awards. He is a native Greek speaker, fluent in English after 16 years in the UK, with operational French, and combines strategic AI advisory skills with hands-on technical depth in Python, machine learning, computer vision, and GenAI tooling.
